Our care is tailored and individualised with a personal touch with a holistic approach.
Zion Care operates a non-discriminatory policy, meaning we will provide assistance to any person wishing to use our service irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, age, cultural background, disability or religion on the provision that following a thorough assessment, we are able to meet all the resident’s needs.
Our Core Values
Zion Care believes that the following principles are paramount:
privacy
Our residents have the right to be left alone and undisturbed whenever they may so wish including when they are well, within their illness or at end of life. Residents have lockable rooms, where complete privacy is respected. Resident’s personal affairs are always discussed in private and treated as strictly confidential.
dignity
Our resident’s needs are to be appreciated, understood and treated with respect. We encourage staff to become dignity champions and we promote residents’ needs, rights and choices and respect those needs, rights and choices. Each resident’s individuality is appreciated and accordingly, they, their families, visitors and possessions are to be treated with respect.
independence
Independence is encouraged and fostered. As far as possible, the residents make their own decisions and have active input into their care plan/advanced care plan if they have the capacity to do so; consenting to the treatment plans in place. If this is unobtainable, we will act in the resident’s best interest by involving people who are pertinent to their lives to assist us in making a decision in their best interest.
choice
Our residents have the freedom to choose how they organise their time, who they spend it with and what they do. In accordance with this, residents have the opportunity to contribute to the organisation of daily routines and activities within the home. Where possible, if they have capacity, residents also have the freedom to come and go as they would in their own home, observing the courtesy of informing the person-in-charge of their whereabouts and approximate time of return.
rights
Residents have and enjoy the same human rights as any other citizen. We ensure residents are informed of how to access and exercise their rights.
fulfilment
We aim to give residents the environment, the opportunities and the care to ensure they live life to their maximum potential in every way. The dedication of our carers in helping each resident to achieve their personal goals, whilst upholding the above principles, is fundamental to the daily running of the home.
